“Ancient Nutrition” Keto Feast Protein Powder

Hey guys! Today I have a protein powder review on a new one I tried.

I recently purchased this one because I have gone Keto and wanted to take the extra steps to ensure that I was consuming as many ketogenic diet approved items as possible.

This one really caught my eye at my local Fairway supermarket. So, I purchased two single serving packs just to try it out. Here’s what I think about this Keto protein Powder…..

Price: Luckily the packets were on sale for 2 for $6.00 at Fairway. But, you can buy a 25 ounce container for $52.95 (a little steep), if you like it,  on Amazon Here:  ANCIENT NUTRITION Vanilla Keto Feast, 25 Ounce

Macros: In this one serving there are 20 grams of fat, 17 grams of protein and only 5 carbs. This is the perfect balance for one following a Keto Diet.

Ingredients: Organic chicken bone broth oil, chicken bone broth protein concentrate, organic chicken protein concentrate, organic egg yolk, organic chia seed protein, medium chain triglycerides (coconut), organic tiger nut, coconut milk, Natural Flavor Blend: natural vanilla flavor, natural maple flavor, rosemary extract, stevia extract (leaf), monk fruit extract, Organic KetoFEAST Botanical Blend: ashwagandha extract (root), coffee cherry extract, alfalfa grass juice, oat grass juice, fermented ginger (rhizome), fermented black pepper (fruit), fermented long pepper (fruit), fermented long pepper (fruit), apple cider vinegar, fermented reishi mushroom (mycelium), Probiotic and Enzyme Blend: bacillus coagulans 1 billion CFU, cellulase complex, beta-glucanase, amylase, xylanase, protease complex, glucoamylase, phytase, pectinase, lipase complex, lactase, alpha-galactosidase, hemicellulase, invertase.

Taste: I purchased the Vanilla flavor so that I could mix it with my smoothies (yes, berries are allowed, in moderation, on the keto food list). The smell was a bit odd but, I continued with it and added it to my smoothie and still smelled the awkward odor after blending. I knew I recognized that smell somewhere but, could not put my finger on where. After I took a sip I was like “UGHHHHH”. It was gross and had an aftertaste. I decided to fully read over that package and the ingredients list and there it was; “Bone Broth”. Chicken bone broth to be specific. Now, I know there are some Bone Broth lovers out there and I enjoy a Flavored broth from time to time but, this was pure chicken bone flavored. And I have no idea why it claims to be Vanilla flavored. I did not taste any vanilla at all. I even tried a few sips afterwards in hopes that I just needed to get used to it. No way; not possible.

My review for this product in a big fat NO! I mean the macro-nutrients and ingredients are great and the product is an excellent idea for the Keto community that is ever-growing. Just, not delicious enough to spend the high cost on. To be honest, I threw out the second pack because I knew myself and no one I knew would drink this. I mean, I am the most committed person I know and I endure some real stuff in the fitness journey.

Keep in mind that there are tons of other Keto items out there for the fitfam. GNC has an entire section devoted to the fad. Not that Keto is one of those come and go fad diets; it is just the current craze. Even for those who have no idea about nutrition.
