Today, on my way to the gym, I saw a little furry animal in the distance. At first glance, it appeared to be a squirrel. As I got closer, I realized that it was a bunny rabbit! The rabbit was eating the little sprig of grass that was between the sidewalk cracks. And, I just had to take a picture. I debated taking him home but, came back to reality and remembered past rabbit experiences.
I love bunnies! I had a beautiful all black rabbit when I was a teen and loved her. She was like a dog. She would sleep on top of me, eat table food, beg for food and even eat cake icing off of my finger. That bunny passed away after a few years and I was devastated. When I got older I got a rabbit for myself and my daughter but, it was not as friendly as my other one. So, we got rid of it quickly.
Never in the twelve years that I have lived in NYC have I seen a rabbit walking around. And, this was no wild rabbit because it did not even flinch when I got close to it. Yet, I was still too scared to touch him. Someone must have abandoned this rabbit that they intended to be their household pet.
This was surely an amazing find during what would otherwise be a casual commute to the gym.
